The Chef

With over 20 years of cooking experience, Chef Scott Ryan introduces his own unique and modern twist to traditional and regional cuisines from all over the world. Professionally trained at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in Cambridge Massachusetts, Chef Ryan has united his passion for food with a special gift for teaching and the ability to provide a personalized culinary experience for all of his clients.

His pursuits in the art of cooking began during his childhood in New York City where he was surrounded by the many diverse traditions and flavors that city has to offer. Throughout his life, Chef Ryan had made it his mission to experience firsthand the many influences that contribute to the world's abundant international culinary traditions. His time spent in Spain, Morocco, Italy, and France is evident in the flavors of his specialized menus. His additional degree in the Visual Fine Arts has only acted to enhance his culinary approach which takes into account not just the sense of taste, but acknowledges all five senses as essential tools in the kitchen.

Previously a Chef Instructor for the Recreational Program at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts, Scott is now serving his clients in the Washington DC metro area and is a Chef Instructor for the recreational courses at L'Academie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg, Maryland For video examples of his class demos, please click here.
